Tip #1 for saving $$ for world travel - collect frequent flyer points. I managed to get all 5 of us to New York for free (not including taxes) by collecting points, it’s definitely worth while! I did it by signing up to credit cards that offered large amounts of points for signing up. I’d make the minimum spend, get the points and then shut it down.
